Combining the old-school concept of a refrigerator chore wheel with the level-grinding fun of World of Warcraft, it’s Chore Wars. The idea? Set up a system of experience points for household chores and “level up” your characters by vacuuming, cleaning up, doing dishes, etc.

I know people that would love this.

Fantastic compendium of unintentionally funny comic-book panels; rumor has it that some of the panels were nicked from Superdickery, but I can neither confirm nor deny that allegation… nor does it really matter, as they’re all lifted to begin with anyhow.

No matter what Joel Johnson says about people like me, I love me some gizmos — but I’m usually flat broke, so I’ve developed a system I call the Constant Reward Strategy™ (self-help book forthcoming Q3 2007 in HarperCollins paperback). This strategy involves always having some ultra-cheap piece of electronics in the mail winding its way to my house.

To this end, the friendly folks at meritline.com have been a really enabling force; the prices can’t be beat and even the slowest shipping only takes three days or so. Highly recommended.

ADDENDUM: Evan rightly points out NewEgg — how could I forget about them — and I might as well plug Think Geek while I’m shamelessly plugging. Neither of them beat meritline for sheer “cheepnis” though.

Until we have the nifty rounded corners of CSS3 compliant browsers, web designers will have to resort to CSS skullduggery to get nicely rounded corners. Cornershop is a lovely interface for clear instructions on how to make your own rounded corner boxes, without a whole lot of foolish shenanigans and rigmarole.
