i disagree with you on that... i loved the book & i loved the ending ... i know it's so deppresing & the whole time you're reading (specially in the last pages) you kinda hope & really think that someone will get out & make it... but u know what.. i finished the book & i still think it's one of the best books i read.. & i'm pretty sure that if somebody survived at the ending i would've changed my mind on that... it's not that i'm dark or sadistic ... but you know what i think girls mostly love these types of stories ..we love to be afraid & i think we love it better by reading a story or watching a movie ...& we also love to get in touch with a wierd type of feelings that we only get throw these sort of stories ...getting some kind of satisfaction in a somehow twisted way..(or atleast that's what i think)

Growl... I get surly when even one main character kicks the bucket. Sometimes I worry that the stuff I write is so dark it would just piss me off if I were the one reading it, but I guess some people are into that sort of thing, hence the success of The Ruins (which I've been seeing everywhere). Interesting how people's writing and their taste in reading materials can be so different, sort of like how Alan Ball (American Beauty, Six Feet Under) really loves South Park.
