for better or for worse

Q: What’s the only way Canadian comic strip “For Better or For Worse” could be creepier?
A: The author, Lynn Johnston, could start offering the cartoon in freaky animated gif format so we can watch the characters blink.

Really, you don’t appreciate the dead, vacant stare of a daily cartoon character with your morning coffee? Now, with your cartoons blinking at you, it might send me over the border for low-priced pharmiceuticals for the other delusions I’ve been having. Like the one where I thought “Peanuts” was funny for the last 15 years.
Now if they can make the daily paper start blinking, I might think of subscribing.

I suppose you also don’t appreciate the biting satire and hard-hitting social commentary of “Rose is Rose.”

You know, I think the blinking is perfect for the pacing of that comic.
