studio 60 script

fig. 1: hopefully not a love scene
I’ve been a fan of PowerBook/crack cocaine user Aaron Sorkin since “West Wing”, so it’s great to see him back on TV. The script for the first episode of “Studio 60″ is (scurrilously) available online; even in rough form, it looks to be classic Sorkin — incredibly perky women, rapid fire dialog, and rampant corruption around every corner. Plan to hole up in September with some rock, ’shrooms, and cheeb and check it out:

if you’re a fan of “The West Wing” be sure to check out his older work, Sports Night. It starts off a little slow, as they forced a laugh track on the show where it didn’t below. But the fake audience is gone by the second disc, and you can see the seeds of genius that would become the bartlett administration.

Bradley Whitford is starting to look like Robin Williams’ and Siegfried and/or Roy’s love child.

Sports Night was amazing. It was like West Wing with none of the dramatic stakes to artificially amp the tension.
The difference in beats between filming and not filming was perhaps the coolest part.

Wait, that’s not Robin Williams getting visibly old?
