pimp my fox

Let’s all agree that Firefox is a wonderful browser, and a revolutionary platform unto itself — for me, the Firfox extensions are what really clinch the deal — but can we also agree on one thing? On a Windows PC, it looks about the same as IE 6; but on Mac OS X, compared to Safari or Camino, even Opera — it’s fugly. Luckily, that same extensibility extends to the appearance of the app itself:
- First, apply a lovely OS X theme.
- Then, fix the interface widgets (buttons, text fields, etc.).
- Now, improve the look of the web itself — block ads and make sure your ad filters are updated regularly and automatically.
…the next version of Firefox is looking to be a little prettier (with built-in spell check!) but it’s not ready for prime time yet, so until then, work with what you got, that’s what I say.

Dear Jeff,
How did you get so cool? Was it something in the Connecticut tap water? Perhaps it was all that Mountain Dew® and Nestea® you drank in college? Or maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with the precise alignment of the stars sending just enough light to create a mystical pattern on the roof of the AMC Gremlin the night you were conceived?
I don’t know if any of my ruminations are in any way correct, but I do know one thing. You’re my hero.
Sincerely,
Sarah

Sarah,
What you claim is simply untrue; as you well know, my father was a condor and my mother was the abstract concept of Socratic thought — and I think the Gremlin if it was even involved belonged to my uncle, named Billy.
What is true about your statement: I did drink a lot of Mountain Dew in college. I once made a drink with Mountain Dew and Jim Beam. I called it a “Mountain Beam”. What is also true: it was not good.
