none more black

  1. Apple expects their customers to pay $150 extra just for the privilege of having their new MacBook in matte black.
  2. Apple knows their customers very, very well.

I suppose since the color costs an extra $150, they just threw in the extra 20 GB of harddrive space for free?!?!?

  2. Jeff says:

Lori, no, the 20 GB additional costs about $50 — using the metric from Apple’s own custom config on their online store.

Make no mistake, I’m desperately lusting over one. I’m just sayin’.

    Jeff,

That thing looks like a Dell. In fact, when I saw it, I immediately thought it was a post bashing the new Dell computer your company was threatening to buy for you…

Yeah, it’s $200 more than the base white one, and if you add the bigger drive, it only adds $50.

It’s the kind of thing where I’m, like, “OK.” I mean, it doesn’t effect my purchasing decisions.

I’m pretty hot for a white one with a bigger drive and a gob of RAM. I figger for the price of a black one, I get 1G of RAM, an 80G drive, and fifty bucks.

Also, did you notice that the RAM prices are more in line with reality than they used to be?

  5. Joshua says:

(crossposted) Yeah, the black is definitely less distinct than the white.

Oh, yeah, and there’s something funky about the keyboard. The keys are really square or something. I’m trying to find a better pic.

The keyboard is, in fact, flush and interesting. I’m curious to know how it works.

And cough syrup is delicious, thank you very much.

Won’t some kind soul purchase one for me?
