Outstanding; finally a gizmo that will enable the 5G iPods to record high-quality audio — I’ve been waiting for this since the 3G iPods kind-of-sort-of-but-ultimately-din’t allow high-quality audio recording. Best bootlegging gizmo ever: thank you Griffin (pictured above)!

I’ll thank them after it actually comes out.

The delay on these things is ridiculous. With the delay on the next gen of Ipods, I think we’re going to be even more disappointed, i.e. now that there’s no rush for the accessory makers to support the current release for a decent amount of time before the next gen makes their current accessories redundant, neither the Belkin one or the Griffin one will hit the shops before Christmas, if at all. It would not surprise me that some stupid business motivation has caused all of the hype over the release of the G5 audio recorder interfaces, and that it’s all been planned as fake from day one. Either way, it’s incredible that we’ve been getting the “coming soon” vibes since late 2005, and I’d bet even as we hit the halfway point of 2006, that they ain’t coming soon. My two cents.
