origami yawn
March 7th, 2006
Microsoft continues to securely protect my wallet from their products with the unveiling of the dreadfully boring “Origami” tablet, which turns out to be just another tablet running XP, just smaller and more battery efficient.
Not that they asked, but: to get people excited about hardware, you need software. No one would care as much about the iPod without iTunes. If this hardware enabled the user to do something — anything! — special that couldn’t have been done in 2005, then we’d have achieved hype and resultant Itchywalletitis. Without any particularly notable software, though, it’s just another overpriced XP gizmo; an inconveniently small laptop missing a keyboard, and what is appealing at all about that?

I’ve had one of those for 5 years. Mine oddly last 4 hours on a battery, not 15 minutes.
*Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz*
And that´s what I think about this product…
